KALIMPONG AND LAVA LOLEYGAON
Kalimpong is a small hill station between Siliguri and Gangtok The road is one of the most scenic routes in this part of the nation. The swift flowing Teesta river runs by the side of the road adding to the beauty of the scenery. The name, Kalimpong, has three different origins. One, it means the place where the local tribesmen gathered to organize field sports, second, it takes it’s name from the Bhutanese king’s minister’s stronghold and thirdly, it is named after Kulim, a fibrous plant found in abundance in this region. Kalimpong has several monasteries and also a Kali temple. The Tibetan Monastery and curio center and Dr Graham's home are important tour stops.
DOOARS
Dooars the name derived from the word Doors is the gateway to North Bengal, Sikkim, North East State and Bhutan. The dense natural forests teeming with wildlife, interoven with lush tea gardens are crises –crossed byTeesta,Jaldhaka, Raidak, Torsha, Kaljani and other river and their numerous tributaries running down the hills.
GANGTOK

PELLING
Pelling is a fast growing urban settlement. It is located at an altitude of 6,100 ft, the nearest point from Mt.Khangchendzonga, offers a good sunrise and all day long view of the Mountain.
YUKSOM
Yuksom, a small remote village of West district was the birthplace of Sikkim's Buddhist Civilization, situated at an height of 1780 mt and was the first Capital of Sikkim. Yuksom literally means “ meeting point of three lamas”, witnessed the coronation of Phuntsog Namgyal, the first Chogyal ( religious king) of Sikkim in 1641 AD by three venerated Lamas who came from North, West and South.
Yuksom is the gate way to high altitude trekking through Kanchandzonga Wild Life Sanctuary. The trek route through Dzongry leads towards various named and unnamed peaks and passes of Mt. Khangchendzonga Range with real test of hardcore adventure.
NORTH SIKKIM
This part of Sikkim is most beautiful. It can be called a Nature lover's heaven. Yumthang is known for its panoramic valley of flowers. During the spring, the lush meadows abound with delicate wildflowers that carpet the valley floor in a rich riot of colors. A must-see here is the Hot Springs and the vibrant Sikkim’s tribal culture and customs. Yumthang Valley You can go to Switzerland in India-Yumthang. It is at an altitude of 12,000 ft, situated about 135 km from Gangtok. Yumthang is on a flat valley and near the tree line, surrounding mountains seems to kiss the heavens. The route of Yumthang from Lachung has a very picturesque landscape and is dotted with Rhododendrons and 108 other types of Orchids. Sikkim is famous for its orchids. Orchids bloom in different colors from April to May. A tourist can come here for a lifetime experience.
Dos and Don’t’s
- Sikkim & Darjeeling is a hilly area & change is weather is a regular feature. It is advisable that light layer clothing should be carried always. In winters it is advisable to carry heavy woolens. (DO)

- People with knees, heart & blood pressure problem & having children below 05 years should avoid going to Nathula, Gurudongmar & Yumosomdong (Zero Point) as it could be of high risk & medical facility are also very poor. (Don’t)
- High Mountains sightseeing like Tsomgo Lake, Yumthang Excursion, Gurudongmar Excursion has to start early in the morning so that guest’s come back early. This is designed for your security as in the afternoon the weather gets cloudy & foggy throughout the year. (Don’t)
