Q5- What is the difference between the National Parks and the Private Reserves?

Some travelers might not realize it, but there are some major differences between private game reserves and national parks.

Timing differentiation

Private Reserve: When you stay on or visit a private game reserve, time is never an issue. Morning game drives leave before dawn to catch the sunrise and the transition from nocturnal animals to daytime creatures. Also, because a private game reserve has no hours of operation, guests can enjoy night game drives where there is no set time to end their drive and leave the reserve.

National Park: Because national parks have limited hours of operation, travelers must abide by these hours and rules during their visit. Morning game drives leave when the park opens and must return prior to the closing time. Many parks do not offer night game drives since these drives extend past hours of operation—which differ from park to park.

Activities differentiation

Private Reserve: Night game drives are some of the most rewarding types of safari tours and can be experienced at private game reserves since there are no closing hours. Bush walk is also a popular and exciting activity that can be enjoyed in private game reserves because guides and travelers are allowed to travel off the road. Some reserves even allow the visitors to walk without a professional guide in certain areas.

National Park: Most national parks do not offer night game drives since there are strict hours of operation for national parks, and vehicles need to return to the entrance of the park prior to its closing. Also, any type of unguided bush walk is prohibited. However, there are a few parks that offer the opportunity to experience a walking safari along with a professional guide.

Q6- What is the best time to view the wildlife?

The most preferred time to visit the wildlife is early Dawn to Morning up to 9 A.M. Most preferred moment to visit the wild life is early Dawn to Morning up to 9 A.M. on any accessible day available to proceed for Wild life sanctuary or park.

Q7- What temperatures are we likely to experience?

November to June is good for spotting animals and also to enjoy the scenic surroundings. July to October is good for sightseeing in the downhill region. However, wildlife Safari is not suggested in the monsoon season with heavy rainfall and cold rich winter with foggy clouds. The preferred temperature for the visit in wildlife parks and safari tours is in between 14⁰c to 35⁰c. This is the most suitable for tourists.

Q8- What clothing and accessories should we bring along with us?

The clothing that you should pack for a safari tour will depend on a few things like the time of year and the type of safari holiday you choose, but there are some general guidelines that you must follow:

  • Safari Wear Colours
  • Try not to have too bright clothing, this is fine for wearing around the lodge and dinner get-togethers in the evenings, but in general when you are going out on a safari travel you want to blend in as much with nature as possible. So think of greens, browns and khaki coloured clothing.
  • It may be dusty where you are going, so also try and stay away from pale colours. It is said that blue and black coloured clothing can attract tsetse flies, which have a painful bite. Black can also be way too hot to wear in the summer months so keep that into consideration.
  • Do not wear camouflage clothing which creates discreet intensity with the environment.
  • Safari Clothing Materials should all be made from lightweight fabrics that will not only keep down the weight of your luggage, but will be comfortable as well. Many camping shops sell lightweight, neutral colored clothing, but those are made of waterproof material that makes noise as you rub against it. This is perfectly fine for camping in a wet environment, but if you are trying to sneak up to an antelope, the noise made by this kind of clothing can often frighten them and scare them away. Cotton works best for shirts and trousers and woolen jerseys if you are traveling in the winter sejavascript:void(0);ason. Also for your safety on a safari tour, the accessories to be carried should be Binoculars, Long Sleeve safari Shirt, Safari Hat, Medicines and LED torches.
Q9- How is the seating in an open safari vehicle?

The seating configuration in an Open Safari Vehicle allows a passenger to see up front, over the head of the passenger sitting on one seat forward. You get an all-round, game viewing experience.

Passengers get a 320 degrees vision from the seat. They are minimum 1.5 meters above the ground. We can easily see over the vegetation along the road and are at least a meter above people traveling in other cars, such as vans.

Easy Access: Easy access from the sides of the vehicle. Six detachable doors provide individual access to each row of seats. Each door has its own ladder.

Weather Protection: Roof for sun protection and roll down sides for inclement weather. In case of rain or mist, the side tarpaulins can be lowered without impeding your safari excursion, or limiting your view too much.

Passenger Protection: An open Safari Vehicle complies with all Vehicle Operation Safety Standards. The individual doors provide necessary protection from curious animals, objects launched from other vehicles in the road, etc. Although animals do not normally interest themselves in vehicles moving around, the doors obscure the movement inside the vehicle and provide better chances for the passengers to click good pictures and also give the vehicle a bigger and more daunting profile. Individual seat-belts attached to every seat provide safety restraint in case of a collision or a roll or a sudden stop to see an animal which is the most probable of all.
